Oscar in action for Internacional
 

Internacional president Giovanni Luigi has revealed that the Brazilian club have received and enquiry from an unnamed side about their starlet Oscar.

The talented playmaker, 20, has been targeted by both Tottenham and Chelsea as they look to add some creativity to their respective midfields.

And the highly-rated youngster has moved a step closer to leaving after Luigi announced contact about his availability had been made, although it still may take time for any deal to be completed.

 

David Howells has warned Real Madrid that if they want Luka Modric they are going to have to meet Spurs’ valuation.

The Croatian midfielder was close to moving to Chelsea last summer for a fee of £35m before Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy blocked the transfer.

But despite being strongly linked with a switch this summer former White Hart Lane star Howells insists that Bernabeu bosses shouldn’t expect to get Modric on the cheap.

Liverpool winger Maxi Rodriguez has left the club and returned to Argentina with former club Newell’s Old Boys.

Rodriguez played 73 times for the Reds and netted 17 goals including two hat-tricks but failed to hold down a regular starting spot at Anfield.

And the Argentine put this open letter on Liverpool’s official website: “Dear Reds, I am leaving Liverpool FC today.

AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri will push ahead with a move for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko as enigmatic Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic edges ever closer to the San Siro exit.

Ibrahimovic is poised to complete his transfer to free-spending French side PSG in the next few days, forcing Allegri to sign a new forward before the start of next season.

John Terry was today cleared of hurling a racist obscenity at Anton Ferdinand.

The England and Chelsea defender was acquitted of calling Ferdinand a "f****** black c***" during a Premier League game at QPR on October 23 last year.

Chief magistrate Howard Riddle cleared the 31-year-old of a racially aggravated public order offence at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

 

Rangers will start the new season in the Irn-Bru Third Division following a vote by Scottish Football League chairmen at Hampden today.

The 30 SFL teams were voting on whether Charles Green's newco Rangers should enter the league and which division they should be placed in.

Tottenham are closing in on a deal for Nottingham Forest defender Jamaal Lascelles, despite late interest from Newcastle.

The 18-year-old central defender is widely considered as one of the best prospects in England, having graduated from the Forest academy last season, before finishing the campaign on loan with League One side Stevenage.

Carlos Tevez is happy at Manchester City and will not push for a move to AC Milan, talkSPORT understands.

Reports from Italy have suggested the Italian giants, who failed to agree a deal with the Premier League champions in January, are back in for the Argentine striker.

But sources close to Tevez have told talkSPORT that, despite interest from Milan, he is happy at City and is not looking to leave.

 

Iwan Thomas believes Adam Gemili has the talent to reach the Olympic 100m final.

The London-born sprinter won gold in the 100metres at the World Junior Championships earlier this month, with a time of 10.05 seconds.

And former 400m runner Thomas claims the 18-year-old can shock the world at the London Olympics later this year.

“Adam Gemili is a great talent,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. “He’s already running 10.05 seconds and I think he can go to sub-ten seconds this year.

Adrian Lopez celebrates scoring for Spain
 

Tottenham are stepping up their bid to beat Arsenal to the signature of Atletico Madrid striker Adrian Lopez, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish newspaper Marca says Spurs are willing to pay the £15million get-out clause in his contract and also triple his wages.

Lopez has been heavily linked with Arsenal but the Gunners are only prepared to pay £10million for the 24-year-old.

Birmingham City have completed the signing of Hayden Mullins from Portsmouth for undisclosed fee.

The versatile midfielder, 33, spent the end of last season on-loan Reading as they earned promotion to the Premier League, but now he has sealed a move to St Andrews.

Mullins has signed a two-year deal with the Blues after Portsmouth’s financial issues meant his stay at Fratton Park would be curtailed.

Brighton wing-back Leon Redwood could be set for a move to Brentford after impressing on trial.

The 20-year-old, who can play at left-back or on the wing, spent much of last season on loan at Dover and has been at Griffin Park on trial for a week.

He gave his hopes of earning a contract a boost by scoring a stunning goal in a pre-season victory over Hampton and the Bees are now weighing up whether to extend his stay.

 

Souleymane Coulibaly joined Spurs in 2011 following an astonishing haul of nine goals in four games at the under-17 World Cup in Mexico.

The 17-year-old Ivorian's hat-trick against Brazil and four goals against Denmark won him the 'Most Promising African' of 2011 at CAF's annual awards.
