Danny Simpson has told talkSPORT that he has never considered leaving Newcastle United because he loves life on Tyneside.
The right-back was linked with a move to Queens Park Rangers in the summer after talks over a new contract apparently stalled.
But Simpson, who looked to be on the verge of an England call-up last season, has insisted he has no intention to leave the club, quashing any rumours he could exit the club.
“I’m staying,” he told Call Collymore. “I’ve never once considered leaving.
“As far as I’m concerned I’m happy here. I love the players. I love the manager, I get on with [Alan Pardew]. He’s a top manager and he’s a good friend as well.
“You’ve seen [against Spurs] what the fans are like so why would I want to leave this place.”
