Brendan Rodgers has lambasted the officials’ decisions during Liverpool’s 3-0 loss to West Brom.
The Northern Irishman’s first game in charge of the Reds won’t be remembered fondly, after goals from Zoltan Gera, Peter Odemwingie and Romelu Lukaku gained all three points for the home side.
Liverpool conceded two penalties and were lucky that only one was converted, but had to play with ten-men when Daniel Agger was shown a straight card for his challenge on Shane Long.
And Rodgers believes the decision to send off the Dane was wrong.
“The penalties were very, very harsh as well as the sending off,” he told talkSPORT. “I don’t think either was a penalty when you see them again on the replay.
“Shane Long’s pace gets him in front of Agger and I thought the decision was very, very harsh. Then when you’ve got ten-men chasing the game it’s always difficult.”
