Barcelona have announced the signing of Man City attacking midfielder Joan Roman Angel, who will play for their ‘B’ team.
The Catalan giants have handed the 19-year-old a three-year deal at the Nou Camp, which has a 12 million Euro release clause.
The Spaniard joined Roberto Mancini’s team three years ago from La Liga side Espanyol in a deal reportedly worth £1million, but he never made an appearance for the first-team.
And Joan Roman Angel announced the deal on Twitter and said: “Dear all: I would like to announce that I will be playing at [Barcelona] for the next 3 years. It hasn't been an easy decision to leave Manchester City where I have spent 3 wonderful years, but all in all Barça is the best option to continue my career right now.
“And would like to give a special mention to all City fans for the support u have given me, which will always stay with me, thank you all!
“Being in England for three years has helped me to mature a lot and to become physically stronger, he added on Barcelona’s official website.
“I’m raring to start and start learning. When I heard Barça were interested in me, that was my priority. I can assure you that I’ll work hard and give everything I can out on the pitch.”
